Greg Olsen's original podcast series, TE1 with Greg Olsen, has officially launched on Blue Wire's podcast network. The series chronicles the evolution of the tight end position in the NFL from the 60s to modern day through conversations between Greg and some of the best players to ever play the position including Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski, and George Kittle. The first two episodes, which dropped on Tuesday, start by going back in time to look at how the position was played in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

The first episode features a conversation with legendary tight end and former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka. Many people remember Ditka for his work as a Super Bowl-winning coach in Chicago, but before he was a coach, Ditka played 11 years in the NFL as a tight end for the Cowboys, Eagles, and Bears. Greg and Coach Ditka sat down to discuss the pivotal moments that led to him being the first tight end inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Ditka tells stories about how he almost played in the AFL, his comeback with the Cowboys, and how Tom Landry changed his life.

Episode two fast forwarded to the late 70s and 80s with HOF tight end Ozzie Newsome. Newsome played 12 years for the Cleveland Browns following an illustrious career as a tight end under "Bear" Bryant at Alabama. He then parlayed his success on the field into a front office position with the Browns, eventually becoming the first African-American general manager in the NFL when he took over the Baltimore Ravens in 2002. In this podcast, Newsome reflected on growing up through integration in Alabama, his great playing career, and how he built a Super Bowl roster in Baltimore.

So far, the series has caught the attention of listeners all over the country, propelling the podcast to as high as #43 on the Apple Podcast charts for sports. New episodes of the series will come out every Tuesday, and next week's guests, Shannon Sharpe and Tony Gonzalez, will continue the storyline of how the position evolved into what it is today.
