Blue Wire’s Dane Moore and Kyle Theige interviewed Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore late last week on the Dane Moore NBA Podcast, just days after news broke that their bid to purchase a majority stake in the Minnesota Timberwolves was being challenged by current Wolves owner Glen Taylor.

“In my interview of Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore, I think it was important and valuable to be able to hear and see Rodriguez and Lore speak,” Moore said. “And the podcasting and YouTube platform empowered that to happen. I felt the forum removed any ambiguity about how they felt. If you watched the show, it was impossible to not know what Rodriguez and Lore were thinking and feeling. And to that end, I felt the interview was a win for modern media in 2024.”

Rodriguez and Lore spoke candidly about the situation, with Lore saying, "I think Glen (Taylor) just decided, as he said, that this team is worth a lot more than when he did the deal, and he no longer wants to abide by the contract. It's plain and simple."

Rodriguez, the former MLB superstar, and Lore, former President and CEO of Walmart US eCommerce and current Founder and CEO of The Wonder Group, had planned to finalize their acquisition of a majority stake in the Timberwolves and Lynx franchises after already buying a 40% stake in the team.
