Blue Wire is a sports media brand reaching millions of listeners through 200+ podcasts with influencers, journalists, athletes, pro teams, and fans. Founded in August 2018, the company has grown from a cluster of regional podcasts to one of the largest sports audio providers on the internet. Our current work spans audio and video production and provides for full-service marketing, monetization, and distribution services.

Position Overview: 

Blue Wire is looking to fill the position of Director, Creative Production. We seek an experienced audio and video producer who excels at managing creative processes and overseeing the production systems for content. This person will work on a diverse slate of projects across our network of licensed content (e.g., Always Cheating, Chris Van Vliet) and high-profile and brand-led athlete partnership content (e.g., Black in the NFL, Chris Long’s Greenlight Podcast, Lolo Jones, Maxx Crosby). Additionally, this person will manage and direct a group of contract editors and video producers. Blue Wire views this role and department as highly scalable and seeks an individual who will lead this growth strategy with innovation and process.

Blue Wire requires a “strategic doer” who can both lead and share in the labor of development, curation, editing, and production of Blue Wire-owned projects. Blue Wire possesses a robust library of content and needs someone who has previously balanced a diverse and concurrently run slate of shows.

This person will be passionate and knowledgeable about connecting with an audience, constructing show formats, developing social media engagement tactics (including YouTube), leading audio mastering, and directing high-end video production.

This is a full-time remote position with a fully remote production studio and may include some travel. This position reports to the Head of Content.


  • Lead creative content development/production of Blue Wire owned-and-operated conversational franchise shows across audio and social media platforms.
  • Develop video content strategies for in-person and remotely recorded live and taped shows.
  • Maintain a Blue Wire quality standard for audio and video production (live and recorded) and implement such standards across the Blue Wire Network and company-owned productions.
  • Oversee multiple weekly conversational shows, including managing show producer(s) who lead scheduling, booking, development of content plans, post-production, and publishing.
  • Oversee the piloting and launch of new podcasts and their producers.
  • Assist in managing ongoing relationships with talent, clients, and other stakeholders.  
  • Manage current contract producers/editors, and recruit and hire contract producers, composers, and engineers as needed.
  • Track and manage show and department production budgets.
  • Set and ensure that show deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Provide quality control and coaching to show producers, and talent, as needed.
  • Identify, recruit, and manage talented creators, producers, and editors to join the Blue Wire team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Blue Wire.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Creativity, motivation, and desire lead B2B, B2C, and talent-centered content.
  • Extensive experience producing content across YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and any other social media platforms.
  • Strong knowledge around audience development and engagement.
  • Experience with developing and growing successful shows, including talent management.
  • Strong experience with creating/tracking success metrics to help evaluate performance.  
  • Thorough understanding of full-cycle audio/video production process.  
  • Ability to design and implement performance management programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: including communication skills, active listening, negotiating, and the ability to foster relationships.
  • Clear presentation and speaking skills.
  • Robust managerial skills and ability to lead a team.
  • High proficiency in project management and high attention to detail.
  • Detailed analytical and critical thinking skills.
